Postnatal Yoga 6 Week Series -Mar/Apr 2024

Location: Lighthouse Yoga Center
Online  In-Person

$108 general / $96 members

Fridays, 11am-12:15pm, online or in person.

This postnatal class series, designed for people with babies 6-weeks to pre-crawling, will focus on exploring and learning about how the core, pelvic floor and joints can all be affected by pregnancy and how we can work to heal, strengthen and stabilize.  Restorative poses throughout each class will help soothe baby-addled nerves. And with babies welcome in class (both online or in person), you can feel free to stop your practice anytime you need to care for baby. And you'll receive a recording of each class, so if you had to leave practice to care for baby, you can pick up where you left off on the recording later! Each class gives you a chance to connect with other new parents in the community and talk about any issues you are having with your post baby body.

In yoga philosophy, the obstacles on the path to our authentic self are called the klesa. These mental states inhibit our progress towards the desires of our heart and prevent us from shining brightly. In the Buddhist tradition, these obstacles take three different forms: attraction, aversion, and unawareness or ignorance. In this 3-week coaching series, we will hone in each week on one of these obstacles, identifying where it might be holding you back and exploring how to move forward.

Mudra and Meditation: An Introduction

Location: Lighthouse Yoga Center
Online  In-Person

$45 general/$38 members

6:30-7:15pm, in-person

Join Manju for a three-session introductory practice of mudras (gestures) as a tool for meditation and concentration. Every week, we will practice two to three hand gestures (hasta mudras) focused on a different aspect of our bodies. We will begin with mudras to connect with our physical bodies, transitioning to our emotional, and spiritual bodies. As we meditate to connect with our energetic centers (chakras) and restore inner calm, using Mudras can enhance awareness and deepen our ability to recognize and respond to the body's messages. A mudra meditation practice can be an accessible path when rigorous physical movement is difficult. Mudras are a vast world connecting ritual, dance, and symbolism - This class is an excellent introduction for those curious about incorporating mudras into their yoga and meditation practice.
