$108.00 Kundalini Fundamentals
Are you Kundalini curious? Maybe you've heard about Kundalini Yoga but have never actually made it to class? Are you interested in shaking things up a bit and moving beyond asana? Or maybe you're looking for a little more spirituality and meditation in your practice?
Our new Kundalini Fundamentals series might be your answer! Join Nandi Gabremedhin as she leads a series of foundational Kundalini Yoga classes. Hosted Monday evenings, the practice will be a fairly gentle one infused with energizing kriyas (sets of exercises) and peaceful meditations leaving you revitalized and relaxed. Nandi's classes feature clear explanations while creating an environment where experience is the teacher. Flexibility isn't required, only flexibility of the mind!
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Lighthouse Yoga Center is DC's premier location for Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini, called the Yoga of Awareness is taught in a set of kriyas which are a series of dynamic and static exercises using asanas (postures), pranayama (breath), mudras (hand gestures), bandhas (body locks), and mantra (chanting). Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations use visualization, projection and focus to attain specific effects in the physical, mental and emotional body. It was brought to the US in 1969 but has been practiced for thousands of years and is a safe, comprehensive and therapeutic practice that is accessible to all levels and body types. This is a practice that enlightens its practitioners to themselves, uplifts, empowers, and can bring you to a state of bliss. Director Of Kundalini Programing
Nandi Gabremedhin is a two time graduate of Lighthouse Yoga Center’s Teacher Training Programs, first earning a 220-hour KRI Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Instructor certificate in 2018 with Sada Sat Kaur & Julie Eisenberg, and then a 200-hour Hatha Yoga Instructor certificate in 2021 with Tara Lemerise, Abby Dobbs, and others.
Nandi’s first yoga class was more than 12 years ago and she felt an instant shift. Nandi practiced Rocket Yoga with Ahmed Jabali for two years. With continuous practice she found it brought awareness and self confidence, and a better connection with others thru a more divine energetic space. Making a decision to become a teacher Nandi has continued advanced trainings in Kundalini Level 2 courses, White Tantric Meditations and Queen Afua’s Sacred Woman holistic health and spiritual divine healing program.
Nandi enjoys creating energetic fun classes and workshops that incorporate a holistic focus of mind, body and spirit. Nandi’s offerings feel good and are suitable for most if not all students. You may also experience a Hatha/Kundalini hybrid which may include a little flow, kriya and meditation. Nandi’s classes facilitate experiences for individuals to find their own power, overcome personal challenges, gain introspection by uncovering the divine energy within!
