$36.00 Chakra Dance with Nandi
This offering is designed to mostly have fun moving our bodies while we
invigorate our energy centers. Now that I am a trained practitioner of
yoga I can never look at life and all that exist in it without my yogic
mind. Being a dancer first always makes me see and feel how yoga is
connected to dance and Id like to explore this more with other curious
minds and creative souls. For the past several years I have been looking
a movements around the world, particularly movements from central,
east, west and northern Africa as well as the Caribbean and how these
movements can stimulate a specific chakra and raising the vibrations of
its practitioner. Much of these movements go hand and hand with chanting
or signing. Some of these indigenous traditional dances are connected
to spirituality, recognizing the change of a season or coming of age
never without intention. I like to explore using creative movements to
target a chakra. We will utilize movements that focus on
the lower triangle. Using our feet, hips and much of our pelvis to
celebrate our connection to the earth, tap into our sensual selves and
promote our confidence in how we identity. Part one utilizes movements
from Congolese, Jamaican wining and percussive hip movements from the
west of the continent. Utilizing movements that come Eritrea and
Ethiopia to open our hearts, shoulder/ neck and head movements to
support our gland of upper chakras for more power and compassionate
communication and clear possibly higher thought. I'd like for folks to
join me alone, with a partner or friend for a fun uplifting practice of
yoga and dance to use kundalini yoga asana’s and dance to raise our
vibrations.
