$36.00 Intro to Ganja Yoga
You’ve heard of hatha, kundalini, yin, flow, restorative, and other
types of yoga, but… is “canna yoga” a thing? Maybe you’re someone who
has privately experimented with using cannabis in their yoga practice,
wondering if you’re the only one (hint: you’re not!). If this idea
sparks your interest, join Jenn, LYC hatha yoga instructor and certified
Ganja Yoga teacher to learn more about the centuries-old relationship
between yoga and cannabis and how the two combined can amplify the
meditative and healing potential the practice and plant provide
separately to so many.
Ganja Yoga offers practitioners a casual,
judgment-free zone to explore the many ways that cannabis enhances the
yoga experience both physically and mentally – similar to the “entourage
effect” concept where THC, the main psychoactive compound that makes us
feel “high,” and non-intoxicating CBD magnify the plant’s beneficial
effects when taken together. Far from just puffing on a joint and then
doing some sun salutations, Ganja Yoga takes a reverent and intentional
approach to mixing cannabis and yoga in order to educate people on how
to do the practice safely and mindfully.
This introductory workshop
gives an overview of the history of yoga and cannabis on the Indian
subcontinent to today’s modern world, plus a bit of cannabis education
and practical guidance to help inform each individual’s personal best
approach to selecting, dosing, and consuming cannabis before, during,
and/or after doing yoga. Jenn will then lead everyone through a slow,
relaxing yoga practice specially designed for an enhanced state.
The
fine print: No cannabis will be sold, gifted, or consumed on premises at
this event (but what you do on your own before or after is your
business).
Attendees must be at least 21 years old to comply with D.C.
law regarding cannabis use and possession.
