$36.00 Now Begins the Study of Yoga: An Examination of The Yoga Sutras
Built on the foundation of the dualistic Samkhya philosophy,
Patañjalayogasastra , The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, have arguably and
somewhat inexplicably become the most influential text to modern yoga.
This workshop will explore how and why this has happened, the valuable
insights The Yoga Sutras can offer us, and where The Yoga Sutras divert
from some of the foundational philosophies of yoga outlined in the
Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Part history lesson, part
philosophical inquiry, this is both introduction to the Yoga Sutras and
in-depth consideration of a few of the most oft-quoted verses and
concepts. The ethical guidelines of yoga, the end goal of yoga practice,
distractions and the obstacles, and what we can expect when we attain
enlightenment… it’s all here and we’ll spend time discovering and
unpacking all of it.
2 Yoga Alliance CEUs available; This workshop is part of Lighthouse's Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and our Going Deeper Yoga immersion program.
