$25.00 The Art of the Chant
Join us for an evening of exploring sound in our bodies. Naad yoga is an
ancient practice utilizing voice and sound to balance body and mind.
When we vocalize mantras calibrating our breath, we create fundamental
tonal energy, encompassing both physical sound (Aahat) and the internal,
divine "unstruck" vibration (Anahat) found within the mind. For this
evening meditation, we will explore simple seed sounds for each of our
energetic centers (chakras), starting at our root chakra and moving up
the spine to the crown of the head. We will go over the proper technique
of using a japa mala as a chanting aid. Participants are invited to
bring their japa malas, journals, and any objects that connect them to
their breath. No prior meditation or chanting experience is necessary.
