Julie Eisenberg is back at Lighthouse to guide you through a 2-hour
interdisciplinary yoga and meditation experience to give you the tools
to stay grounded (and sane) during the coming months of political stress
and turmoil. The future of the US - and the world - hangs in balance in
the coming months, and for many of us this includes uncertainty about
our jobs, conflicts with family members, and potentially a deep despair
about the direction we may be headed. The good news is that yoga
provides tools to manage this! Through yoga and meditation, we can
create the conditions within ourselves to find a state of flow - to
learn to respond rather than to react, and to preserve our energy for
when it is most needed. While we can’t individually control the outcome
of the elections, we can fortify ourselves and our nervous systems to
continue our fight for truth and justice. This workshop is open to all
levels.
Julie Eisenberg

Julie discovered yoga in the 1990’s when she was embarking on a
high-stress career in Washington, DC. After a decade of deep and
consistent practice, she completed her first teacher training in 2008,
and following several years of advanced trainings, she opened Lighthouse
Yoga Studio in DC in 2011.
Over the years, Julie was fortunate
to have trained with some of the US’s top teachers, including Seane
Corn, Kerry Kelley, Paul Grilley, and more.
Julie was
particularly renowned in the DC area for her work with the homeless and
other underserved communities. She worked diligently to bring yoga and
mindfulness to the people who most needed it, and in 2018 she received a
city-funded grant to move Lighthouse to Kennedy Street, to help
spearhead development and neighborhood cohesion in that neighborhood.
After
a couple years of traveling between Lisbon and DC, in 2021 Julie sold
Lighthouse to Rebecca and became a permanent, full time Portuguese
resident.
With no plans to open another studio in Lisbon,
Julie limits her teaching to workshops and small group and private
classes that she specially curates for her students.
