$95.00 Un-hunch: A Yoga Series for Your Upper Back, Shoulders, and Neck
SOLD OUT
Pricing: $95 general / $65 members.
Slouching seems to be a way of life. Our shoulders roll
forward when we are on our computers, looking at our phones, eating our food,
driving our car, and riding our bikes, just to name a few. It's no wonder so
many of us experience pain in our neck and shoulders! Unfortunately, the
solution isn't quite as simple as just standing or sitting up straight. Armed
(pun totally intended!) with more awareness, we can un-hunch to more openness
and ease in our upper body.
This series is devoted to the exploration of the connections
between your upper back, shoulders, and neck. We'll explore somatic
exercises to bring more awareness to your head, neck, shoulders and arms.
You'll discover the ways your shoulder blades move well and other ways they
don't move much at all. This will help you understand how weakness or lack of
mobility in these movements could be contributing to your neck, shoulder, and
back pain. Using simple strength building exercises coupled with posture work
to increase flexibility, you will develop your own plan to correct your
slouch.
Our work in this series also includes an exploration of the
yoga poses and transitions that tax our shoulders the most. Knowing how to vary
these movements makes your yoga practice more accessible and more
supportive.
This series is appropriate for all levels of practitioner
and especially great for anyone who:
- Wants to learn about shoulder anatomy and movement.
- Experiences discomfort in neck and shoulders in daily life or
on the yoga mat and wants to feel better.
- Is recovering from a shoulder injury and trying to ease back
into yoga practice.
