Wild Mercy: Practices for inner wisdom and personal power.

Tap the portal to your wisdom and magnificent power - each of us will need to be clear on our truths to navigate the times ahead. In this series, you will have a personal experience with contemplative prayer practices that tap into your creativity, gentleness, and strength to reveal the wisdom uniquely designed for you and to support you to be a force in your world. Collective power begins when every person connects with their wisdom to move authentically through the world.

During this series, we will not discuss or debate philosophy or beliefs. This is a place to cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself and see where that takes you.

We will practice four contemplative styles of prayers.

    - Lectio divina- tapping into the wisdom of the written word - holy and secular

    - Imagery - tapping into the wisdom of female spiritual icons, modern art, and archetypes

    - Awakening to the profound and magical in the mundane

    - Writing/drawing your own prayer - Take your place among the ancient crafters of prayer. Your heart song, rage,     and heartbreak are as valuable as time-tested prayers. Tap in and let out.

About ten years ago, I decided to learn how to pray to connect with higher wisdom; I noticed that walking in nature, taking in beautiful art, and doing yoga seemed to elicit awe and connection that church no longer provided. I quickly learned that I had a minimal idea of prayer, 1) it's not just kneeling with clasped hands, 2) it can be an act of speaking or receiving, and 3) often wisdom comes in your own voice. I eventually trained in leading contemplative prayer groups and retreats.

I offer this series from a place of curiosity and joy; I'm ready to hold space for the mysterious movement of wisdom. I would classify myself as spiritual, not religious. I welcome all to join.

What you will need for class.

     - Come as you are. We may do some basic movements to relax. Street clothes are fine.

    - A journal/paper/tablet to write or draw a short reflection at the end of each practice.

    - There will be an opportunity to share with the group at the end of the session. Not mandatory.
