Yin Yoga

Similar to Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga is a way to reduce stress and anxiety. Students also report that with a regular Yin Yoga practice, they’re able to find more ease and comfort in meditation.

Yin Yoga is slow-paced practice that uses long holds to access and stretch connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia. Props are used to help support you in postures, but unlike Restorative Yoga, a certain amount of discomfort is welcomed.

Yin Yoga classes are for all levels, and are perfect for students who are looking for more stable, grounding options. Classes can be modified for prenatal students and are an excellent option for students with limited mobility or any physical challenge or difference that put traditional Hatha and Flow yoga classes out of reach.
